Lonnée Hamilton is a skilled Web content manager and digital media consultant with more than 15 years of experience.
Lonnée witnessed the power of New Media to harness volunteers, fundraise and win elections during the 2008 Obama campaign. Because of her work for the campaign, she was among 60 people chosen by the New Organizing Institute to take part in a weeklong bootcamp in Washington, D.C., focused on training strategies for social organizing using the Internet.
She returned home and began applying the skills learned on the national campaign at the local level, creating websites, email, blog, text messaging and social media strategies for clients such as Pasadena City Councilmember Chris Holden; Pasadena City Councilmember Steve Madison’s re-election campaign; and nonprofit organization One Community: A Grassroots Think Tank.
Lonnée received her BFA and MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She was the recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation residency in Bellagio, Italy.
Lonnée was nominated for a 2011 James Beard Foundation Journalism Award.
Most recently, she has written a series of nonprofit spotlights for GOOD magazine focused on worthy nonprofits participating in CITGO gasoline’s Fueling Good program.
